FAQ
How long do private lessons last?
Each lesson lasts about an hour, give or take depending on how your dog is doing that day. We typically meet once a week, and you are responsible for keeping up with homework in between sessions.
Which is better: board and train or private lessons?
It depends on your goals and consistency at home. If you stay consistent with your dog’s homework and structure, private sessions can be just as effective as a board and train program.
Does my dog need to wear training equipment all the time?
Your dog should wear their training equipment while practicing, walking, or when we’re reinforcing obedience. When they’re just relaxing at home, they don’t need it — though we recommend keeping a flat collar on so you can step in and correct behavior if necessary.
Do I need to keep up with training after private lessons are finished?
Yes! Consistency is key. Dogs need ongoing structure, accountability, and purpose. If you stop reinforcing their training, they may slip back into old habits. We’re always here to help if you need a refresher.
Still have more questions?
We’d be happy to talk through your dog’s needs. We can help you decide if Board and Train is the right fit!
